José Enrique de Olano i Loyzaga
(Liverpool, 1847-Barcelone, 1934)
Mining engineer and member of a Basque family engaged in important companies ( shipping, mining, metallurgical and textile concerns).. He succeeded in wholly modernising the mining industry of the county. In 1900 his company was tenth in the country's state ranking. In 1908 the King Alfonoso XIII visited the mines and granted him the title “Count of Fígols”.
