Time of Revolt


The colony was actually a lively village dancing to the rhytm of music when honouring Santa Barbara, patron saint of miners, a village which mourned their sons when there were tragic accidents, and also a lively village in times of revolt and labour claims.

With these hard working conditions we can easily imagine that the mining field, as well as many other in the country, headed through its history remarkable episodes of labour claims.

Among others, both the Revolt of the “Alt Llobregat” County and the 1977 strike are worth bringing up as the most remarkable claims shaping the history of county mines
